Top Text Title: Top Text: 1. When does my child go to Art? Your child goes to art two days in a six day cycle. The art classes are forty minutes. Check with your child's teacher for the specific day and time. All children in first through fifth grade attend art class. 2. What is the Festival of the Arts? The Festival of the Arts is a music and visual arts festival held every May by the Wappingers Central School District. Art work from every child will be on display at Mesier Park in the Village of Wappingers. During the year an assortment of student's art work is saved to select from for the many displays. After the Festival, all of the artwork is returned to the students. 3. What is the A.W.A.R.D.S. program? The AWARDS program is an art and writing class offered to some grades in the WCSD. A.W.A.R.D. stands for Art, Writing and Reading Development Skills. Essentially, the students use vocabulary and what they have learned in their art with developing their reading and writing skills.
