Objectives:
Students will practice responsible use of technology. Students will be aware of how to use the Internet safely. Student will know the proper safeguards to use when using the Internet.

Students will know what safeguards should be employed when using the Internet. Students will be able to review a web site appropriately.

Process:
Librarian will introduce the lesson with the importance of being safe on the Internet, as well as being safe in the park or playground. Students will discuss Internet safe guidelines that they may have at home and why they are important. Librarian will review the Kids' Rules for Online Safety from SafeKids.com http://www.safekids.com/kidsrules.htm. They will be encouraged to go home and discuss Internet safety with their parents. Students will be asked to review several web sites dealing with Internet Safety. The review process will reinforce safe Internet guidelines.
