Homework

First grade is a big transition for students and often students are very 
tired in the beginning of the year.  Students work very hard during the 
school day and need a chance to relax after school.  Therefore in the 
beginning of the year, we do not give much homework to first grade 
students.  We do encourage you to read to and with your child every night to 
help them develop a love of literature.

Beginning in October:
Weekly homework packet - This packet reinforces skills taught in class.  
Please work on this packet with your child and have your child return the 
completed and signed homework packet at the end of each week.

Beginning in February
Monthly Homework - Complete the book in a bag project and complete by the 
end of the month.  You may keep the book but please return the project and 
homework packet in the bag so it can be reused each month.
