I have achieved a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the State University
of New York at Geneseo. I have also achieved my Master's degree and
Specialist level degree in School Psychology from Rochester Institute of
Technology in Rochester, New York.
While at RIT, I conducted research related to what teachers feel they need
in order to successfully include students with disabilities. I have also
researched, and published a paper in the National Association of School
Psychologists Communique, on the cognitive effects of childhood leukemia
treatments.
I currently hold New York State Certification as a School Psychologist, and
National Certification in School Psychology. I am a member of the National
Association of School Psychologists, New York Association of School
Psychologists, Golden Key National Honor Society, and Psy Chi National Honor
Society for Psychology.
Prior to coming to Fredonia Central, I gained experience across a wide range
of settings and age ranges (students in Pre-K through 12th grade). My prior
practicum, internship, and work experiences have included: Brockport Middle
School (Brockport, NY), Rochester City School District - John Marshall High
School (Rochester, NY), Marion Junior/Senior High School (Marion, NY),
Strong Memorial Hospital - Kirsch clinic for developmental disabilities and
Autism Spectrum Disorders program (Rochester, NY), Chautauqua Lake Central
School District (Mayville, NY), Cattaraugus County BOCES (Salamanca, NY),
Catt.-Little Valley Central School District, and Randolph Central School
District.
My main role as a school psychologist is to help children and adolescents
succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. In doing so, I assist our
students, teachers, and parents here at FCSD in helping our students to
become as successful as they are capable of.
I assist in this task through a variety of different activities, depending
on the needs of our students, teachers, and parents. Services that I offer
include, but are not limited to, consultation and collaboration with
parents/teachers/students, psycho-educational evaluations (cognitive,
achievement, social-emotional, behavioral), counseling services (individual
and group), behavior evaluations and improvement plans, intervention
services, prevention services for a variety of issues, and assistance with
research and planning for program changes and new program implementation. I
also serve as a District CSE Chairperson, Chairperson for the middle and high
school Student Assistance Team/ Response to Intervention Team, and
Chairperson for the Section 504 committee.
