5. Bound spiral or notebook for additional notes/3-ring binder
6. Assignment book
7. Travel card
8. Independent reading book (AR book)
As the year progresses, please be sure to replace your supplies as they run out or get used.

Grading Policy 2012-13 School Year

Students will be encouraged to retake quizzes or tests for a
replacement grade. “Learning” a concept
is more important than “when” it is learned. Each student is unique and may choose to
retake tests and quizzes depending on their individual circumstances and
satisfaction with their current grade.
The following
guidelines are provided for students to improve grades up to and including 100%
each quarter.
1. Retakes will be
offered during after school help.
2. Original (and
retake) tests and quizzes must be corrected with all work shown correctly before
a new retake will be provided. Before
and after school help is provided for all students.
3. There will be ONE
new retake provided for each test and quiz, each week of the quarter. You may attempt each retake, one time, each
week. You may continue to improve your
grade the following week, after corrections.
Each retake will be comparable in difficulty to its original.
4. Extra credit is
offered during each unit. Extra credit
may be received for homework completion, quality lab performance, unit
projects, and completing questions sets based on previously presented material.
5. Grades may be
improved until the last day of each quarter.
