Dear Parents,

     It is a beautiful day outside and I hope you are all enjoying it.  The rising of the Super Moon on Saturday night, was equally as beautiful.  Even though we had a very mild winter, it is always so wonderful when spring really arrives. 

     On Wednesday we will be going to the Audubon Center and Sanctuary.  Both the AM and PM classes will once again be together to enjoy a day outside.  All of the children need to be in school by 8:45 so we can make sure everyone is prepared to spend a day in nature.  While the weather on Wednesday looks fair, let us not forget the day at the College Lodge.  Come prepared for that,  just in case we have a little rain.  We will be going rain or shine and if we are all prepared for the rain, it will not interfere with our day.

     Remember that any family members joining us on Wednesday, also need to bring a lunch and drink.  Since we will all be eating together, you can pack your lunches along with your child's, if that is easier.  What we take to the Audubon, we take home with us.  This might help to keep in mind as you are packing lunches.  Refer to the requests on your permission slip regarding lunches, if you have any questions.  If you would like your child to be protected from the sun or insects, please remember that is something I cannot apply.  You can put it on before your child leaves for school, or, if you are coming, you can apply it when you think it is necessary.

     The children will need to ride the bus to the Audubon Society.  This is a great opportunity for those children who have never taken the bus, to experience their first ride with their friends.  You are welcome to take your child home with you when the field day is over.  If this is what you are planning to do, you will need to send in a note stating who will be taking your child home from the Audubon.  If a grandparent is coming and taking your child home, please note this.  I will have the sign-out sheet with me so whoever is noted will be able to sign your child out.  If your child is riding the bus back to school, pick-up time will be at 1:45PM. 

     Hopefully I have covered everything.  If not, please feel free to call me. 

     Finally, please check your Parent Conference time.  Thursday, May 10th is another conference night.  I have the schedule at school if you need to check.
