The Monsters are Due on Maple Street projects were fantastic! I really
enjoyed the effort so many students put forth!
We are launched in a unit based on Freak the Mighty. Students will be reading
and applying literary concepts to the text.

testing testing testing..Did I say testing?
First week of May students will be taking their NY State ELA exam. Be sure
students get good shut-eye and a healthy breakfast! Also, please bring #2
pencils, sharpened. The following week will be math and then world language
exams.
Update: 7th graders will be taking their ELA exam on Tuesday, May 3rd, &
Wednesday, May 4th.

Update:
We are currently engaged in a unit of study in preparation for the state test
coming up in early May. Students will be taking numerous practice drills and
working on individual strategies to optimize their performance while
developing their literacy skills.
The Reader Responses requirements have been modified to broaden the scope of
reading strategies to give students practice reading across the many
different genres. During reading workshop, students will have access to an
assortment of genres. Student recommendations are greatly appreciated!
