Homework will be assigned Monday-Thursday with few exceptions. It is always
written in the planner and is checked before leaving the room. You can also
check the homework link on this site. I leave the weekends free for you to
enjoy with your family unless you owe work. I grade one assignment per
week. Ten points is taken off for late work. Late work is accepted until
the test for the unit. Students can correct graded homework for an average
of the two scores. Homework is a crucial piece to being successful in math.
By the time many students get to 6th grade, they hate math. Somewhere along
the way, they have struggled and have become discouraged. One of my goals
is to turn these kids around. I do everything I can to make math easier and
enjoyable. I know that with encouragement, all students can be successful
and begin to enjoy math. Another goal is to provide a challenge to those
students who excel in math. I strive to make it an enjoyable year for all
students, whether they enjoy math right from the start or not.
