Fast Food Restaurant

You have just been hired to open a new fast food restaurant in your neighborhood. The rising obesity levels are alarming and you have made it your mission to design a healthy menu . In this project you will do the following:

  • Research real fast food restaurants and examine a variety of menu items.
  • Look at the nutritional information on the provided web sites.
  • Note the foods you find to be the most healthy, for use on your menu board (High fat, high calories, high sodium and transfats are all things that should be considered)

Visit the web sites and find nutritional information on food you KNOW are healthy choices. Example: we all know chicken is good food, but not after it is deep fried. Everything is OK in moderation and nutritious food doesn't have to taste bad. Subway is a great example of a fast food restaurant that offers healthy choices.

THE PROJECT!

CREATE A NUTRITIOUS FAST FOOD RESTAURANT MENU BOARD

Menu board MUST include the following:

  • 5 sandwiches
  • 5 soups and salads (total)
  • 4 side dishes
  • 3 desserts
  • 3 beverages
  • 1 kids meal with description
  • 1 photo area highlighting "the special" menu items (include picture, description and price)

ALL MENU ITEMS MUST INCLUDE CALORIES, SUGARS, AND FAT.   You can make up the prices. Be creative. You can rename the food item on your board, but we should be able to identify it's original source (such as McDonalds). Example, if you chose the Big Mac (which you WOULD   NEVER   DO), it could be called the "Emmer Mac" or the "BIG Em".
