I don't give much homework, except to read. If you read for 15 minutes every night, you will see a huge improvement in your child's reading success. Don't forget to read TO your child as well. They are never too old to hear a familiar story. Sight words are also a very big part of reading. There is a list of 100 First Grade sight words that your child should know by the end of the year. Click on the FAQ page, and there will be a link to those sight words. Print them out and make cards with the words on them. You can play games such as Go-Fish and Memory, or Bingo to reinforce your child's sight word vocabulary.
