Process

Information Gathering

1. You will collect and record data about the climate, people/culture,
geographic features, and leisure activities in Italy.

2. You will use online resources as well as your social studies book and
other books, selected by Mrs. Kumm, regarding Italy. You are allowed to use
any additional resources you find, but the ones listed on the "Travel Agent"
page should be enough.

3. Make sure you have all of the information you need to create a convincing
Travel Brochure. You should have a copy an Information Sheet on your
desk. This will help you keep track of the information you will need. You
will turn this in to the teacher when you hand in your brochure.

4. Once you have gathered your information. You will create your Travel
Brochure. You will use the supplies provided by Mrs. Kumm. A white sheet of
construction paper (18"x30"), markers, crayons, pens, pencils, scissors and
glue.

Creating the Brouchure

1. Take the facts from your Information Sheet to write four well written
paragraphs. Your paragraphs should be titled: Geography, Economics,
Government and Culture. Each section should be interesting and include
acurrate facts about Italy.

Remember, your task is to make Italy look like an enjoyable place to
visit! The details that you add can only help you to achieve your goal!

2. Add pictures, maps, graphs etc. to make your brochure look attractive.
You may draw these pictures on your own or you may print them from the
computer. Make sure that the graphics go with the words.

3. Type out your paragraphs on Claris Works word processing. Use the column
setting. Make sure your paragraphs are well-organized and contain correct
information. You should also proof read and edit before printing. After
printing your information out, you will have to cut and paste it onto your
white construction paper.

Congratulations, you have completed your Travel Brochure for Italy!
