What to do to succeed in your Spanish class

TO SUCCEED IN SPANISH CLASS YOU NEED TO FOLLOW THE GUIDELINES BELOW:

1. HAVE THE FOLLOWING SUPPLIES: (I do not ask for much, just the basics)
☺ One 2-inch three ring binder with lined paper
  ☺ pencils, eraser, pencil sharpener
  ☺ black or blue pens
  ☺ 3X5 index cards
☺ glue stick or/and scotch tape
  ☺ I do NOT request a Spanish-English dictionary. I actually prefer
that you
use the vocabulary section located at the end of each one of the books that we
are going to use this year. The reason is because a dictionary will often give
you many definitions for one word, while the vocabulary section of our books
will give you the exact definition of the word for the context being used in
class.

2. FOLLOW MY DIRECTIONS STRICTLY AND PRECISELY AT ALL TIMES. SEE GUIDELINES
FOR HOMEWORK BELOW (A-F).

A) When you are assigned flashcards with pictures for homework, you have to
cut the pictures, paste them on one side of the flashcard and write the
Spanish word for it three times on the other side of the flashcard. If it is
not done exactly this way you will get a "0" on your homework assignment.

B) When you are assigned exercises from a book for homework, you will have to
copy and/or write in complete sentences in Spanish and translate them into
English.

Example:
Los profesores dicen que tenemos que seguir sus instruciones.
The teachers say that we have to follow their instructions.

If you do not write in complete sentences and translate you will get a 0 in
your homework assignment.

C)When you are assigned worksheets or workbook pages for homework, you have to
complete the sentences by filling in the blanks and then translate them into
English. If you do not translate the sentences into English you will get a "0"
in your homework assignment.

D) when you are assigned plain flashcards for homework, you have to write the
Spanish word three times (not just one time) or you will get a "0".

E) If you are absent from class you have to check my website for the assigned
homework and bring it done to class the next day (unless is a worksheet that I
hand out during your absence). If the next day your homework is not done you
will get a "0".

F. You must do your homework everyday. Homework is worth 20% of the the total
average for every quarter of the school year. I DO NOT TAKE LATE HOMEWORK.

PARENTS, PLEASE, DO NOT DO THE HOMEWORK FOR YOUR CHILDREN. YOU ARE NOT HELPING
THEM WHEN YOU COMPLETE THEIR ASSIGNMENTS. ON THE CONTRARY YOU ARE IMPAIRING
THEIR LEARNING PROCESS.

3. IN TESTING SITUATIONS
When I announce that a test/exam time has officially started, you will not
look anywhere but your own paper, you will not talk or whisper. If you have a
question, as ridiculous as it might be, you will raise your hand and wait for
me to be able to help you. If I am not looking in your direction you can call
my name to get my attention so that I can help you. If you are talking or
whispering during a test I will understand that you are done with it and I
will collect it at that time, whether is one minute after the test has started
or 30 minutes.

4. Come to class everyday and be on time.
