What is a Math Journal?

The Math Journal is the activity at the start of class.  It is a warm-up 
activity.  Sometimes the questions are from previous homework and sometimes 
it is a writing assignment based on recent lessons. The purpose of this 
activity is to check for understanding of recent concepts and to get students 
to think and communicate about these concepts.
