Students handed in the quotation essays on Romeo and Juliet on December 23rd. All essays turned in from this point on will receive a grade deduction of ten points per day, as is the Wappingers Central School District English Language Arts Department's poilcy.
During the month of January, ninth graders will be asked to read the nonfiction work of their choice (titles MUST be approved by me). Students will read the work over the course of the next four weeks. At the end of that time, they will be expected to turn in a two-page, typed book review. They will also be expected to give a brief, informal oral presentation on the book to their classmates. (Students must complete both the oral and the written component of the assignment in order to pass). Details, models and a rubric for this assignment will be available by Monday, January 11th.
