PREREQUISITE: NONE

Areas of study include:

·        The physical, emotional, intellectual, and social development of the toddler, preschool and school-age child, and the child having special needs.

·        Additional care-giving and social responsibilities:

o       Daily Care

o       Guidance

o       Discipline

·        Skills are practiced in a laboratory situation

This course provides the student an opportunity to understand the establishment of physical, emotional, social and cognitive foundations.  The student will have the opportunity to apply skills necessary for future rolls of family member or career person dealing with children.

Assessment: Assessment is based on quizzes, exams, lab assignments, daily participation and demonstrated skill.
