Adolescent Psychology:
There will be daily journal entries that are due twice a quarter, five will
be at the end of the quarter. All journal entries will be posted daily on
this website. Journal entries are due Nov. 12th

1. If you had a time machine- and could go back in time and make changes
what decisions would you rethink? Why would you make a different choice and
what would it change in your future?
2. What would happen if you woke up one morning as a member of the opposite
sex? If you were suddenly changed what is the first thing you would do? Do
you think it would make a difference in your confidence or self-esteem?
3. Are you happy the way that you are? What are you good at, and is it valued
by our society?
4. If you were allowed to star in a movie of your choice, what kind of movie
would you choose? Pick out your shooting location, and your wardrobe.
Include, if you like, your action sequences and the martial arts you’d learn.
5. Confucianism is life philosophy. It teaches its practitioners to live
their lives according to the universal virtues- wisdom, benevolence, and
fortitude. If you were to develop your own life philosophy, what three things
would you designate as your universal virtues?
6. Many experts believe that goal setting helps to improve self esteem.
Explain why you would disagree or agree with that statement.
7. From the film “The Breakfast Club” – do you think that John (Bender)
enjoys being in Saturday morning detention? Do you believe that he may have
pulled these types of stunts before with other detention groups? Is this
group special to him or is this just part of the game he plays?
8. What is your scariest story. Try to make it something that really happened.
9. As Claire is helping Allison there is a point when Allison asks Claire why
she is being so nice to her. Claire responds, “Because you’re letting me.”
Why do you think that Claire responds this way?
10.If you were Benders teacher (from film “The Breakfast Club”) how would you
cope with the problems he creates? If you were a business owner would you
hire him?
