Announcements

Hello and Welcome. This will be the page to view and find out about class
happenings and updates. Any significant class activities, procedures or
changes will be noted here so check back periodically for updated
information. (Usually monthly)

I look forward to assisting all parents, guardians and students in making
the year productive, interesting and entertaining.

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR PARENTS OF 10TH GRADE STUDENTS:

STUDENTS WHO FAIL THE REGENTS TEST WILL NOT PASS THE COURSE. STUDENTS MUST
PASS THE REGENTS WITH A 65 OR BETTER. IF A STUDENT FAILS THE REGENTS THEY
MUST RETAKE IT UNTIL THEY PASS IT. STUDENTS CANNOT GRADUATE IF THEY DO NOT
PASS THE REGENTS. IT IS NOT ENOUGH TO PASS THE COURSE. STUDENTS MUST PASS
THE REGENTS.

*The New York State Regents is a state exam that has rules and regulations
that must be followed. Students who choose not to follow those rules
jeopardize their chance to pass the test and may void their scores.*
Students take the exam in June. Make up exams are offered in August and
January. A student's best opportunity to pass the test is in June.

A student's final average consists of the four quarter grades and the
grade students recieved on the final. Passing the final exam is a necessary
component to passing both 9th and 10th grade Global studies.

        persists.

                        Homework Policy
Homework is worth 20% of the overall grade
1. Students recieve Homework assignments for each quarter at the beginning
   of each quarter.
2. The home work assignments are posted weekly in the front of the
   classroom.
3. Students are reminded verbally every day.
4. Aassignments are posted by grade on this web page.

HOMEWORK IS NOT ACCEPTED LATE! NO EXCUSES.

Please keep in mind that the Homework sheet schedule is subject to change.
Snow days, delays and classroom pacing may cause the need for adjustment.
Students will be notified in class and updates will be posted here.

UPDATE FOR JANUARY:

The 2nd quarter is flying by quick and there are les grades for the marking
period because of holidays, vacations and regents week. This means the grades
will have more weight per assignment, tests and essays because there will be
fewer of them. There will be a midterm test consisting of 40 multiple choice
questions and an Essay. This test will be administered in class over two days
and will cover 9th grade and 10th grade material. (Up through WWI)
