I am very excited to begin my tenth year at Kinry Elementary. This will be
my first year teaching fifth grade. I am looking forward to a new challenge.
Previously, I taught 6th grade on the Green Team, fourth grade and AIS.
I have lived in Wappingers going on 5 1/2 years now. My husband and I were
blessed with a beautiful baby boy, Wayne Vincent Evert, on April 8, 2007. He
is two years old. Wow, time goes fast. I hope to have the opportunity to have
him meet my students at some time during the year. We also have a sweet cat
named Sasha.
The summer will go very fast. School will be here before we know it. I
am looking forward to a successful year.
My mission is to instill the love of learning in all my students by
demonstrating that learning can be fun. It is also my goal to
establish an environment where students feel that they are a part of a team.
An environment where no question is not worth asking, and where individuals
are not afraid to take a risk. Finally, a classroom where students enjoy
coming to everyday and feel that it is a safe haven for them to learn and
make lasting friendships.
