Earth Science Article Project

Introduction:

“Earth Science” is a broad term that encompasses many different studies of the Earth and its place in the universe.  This year you will be learning about some basic concepts from each of the following branches of Earth Science, such as Astronomy, Geology, Meteorology, and Oceanography.  Before we begin the course, I would like you to become familiar with the content of the Earth sciences

Your Task:

You will find eight (8) earth science current events news articles.

The articles will be from newspapers or magazines found in the links given below.

For each article, you will write a 5-7 sentence summary. 

The Specifics:

·       Two (2) of your eight articles must contain information from Astronomy, (2) from Meteorology, (2) from Geology, and (2) from Oceanography.

·       You will print each article and attach a summary.

·       Summaries must include:

1.      Which branch of Earth Science the article is about

2.      A brief synopsis of the article content.

3.      Source/reference information – using specific URL addresses.
