Career Exploration Internship Program (CEIP) is a new class at Lansingburgh High School. During CEIP, students attend class for 56 hours. The rest of the time (108 hours) they are interning at local businesses. The purpose of CEIP is to allow the student to "test drive" a career before they invest their time and money. In the classroom, students are taught to discover their Career DNA, create resumes, cover letters, interviewing techniques, proper business dress, state and federal labor laws, sexual harrassment, safety in the workplace, tolerance for workers of different generations, how to use office equipment, telephone etiquette, just to name a few topics. Typical placements last year included, Seton Health, RJ Carignan & Company Insurance, North Troy Hannaford, Old Daily Inn Catering, Lansingburgh High School, Rensselaer Park Elementary School, St. Mary's School in Waterford and Hudson Valley Community College.
