Who should I talk to about a problem in my child's classroom?

You are welcome to call me at school any time, but you should contact your
child's teacher first! If they are having problems with another student or a
concern with the teacher, they should be the first person you attempt to talk
to. The best solutions to classroom problems usually come from working
together with the teacher.

What do you do as the principal?

My primary goal as the building principal is to promote a safe learning
environment where all of our students are given the opportunity to reach their
maximum potential as learners and responsible citizens of the country and
community. There are many different things I do in my job to try and achieve
that goal, including student discipline, evaluation of teachers and support
staff, acting as the Chief Information Officer for the District, and helping
teachers get what they need to create quality lessons.

I want to work with kids and help the school, but how can I do that?

There are many opportunities for parents and community members to have a
positive impact on our students. You can volunteer to present at Morning
Program, offer to serve on a committee like the Shared Decision Making
Committee, work with the CROP after school program, join the Athletic Booster
Club,or attend Board of Education meetings. Community involvement is always
welcome!
