<div class="c1"></div> <div class="c1"></div> <p class="c3"><u><span class="c2"><strong>Important Cabaret Information</strong></span></u></p> <p class="c3"><span class="c2">Please sign up for a time to audition if you are interested in a solo or small vocal ensemble number. Auditions will b held this Friday, December 3rd beginning at 3:10. Each time slot is 5 minutes, please have a song of your choice prepared to sing. We will have CD/MP3 capability if you have a Karaoke style accompaniment track.<br /> Note: You <strong>MUST</strong> audition to be considered. Please see Mr. Chatterton for a permission slip and return before Friday, December 10th.</span></p> <p class="c3"><span class="c2"><br /> </span></p> <p class="c3"><span class="c2"><strong>News for 10/13/10</strong></span></p> <p class="c3"><span class="c2"><strong>Important Concert Update</strong></span></p> <p class="c3">The Laurens Central School Fall Concert will take place on Tuesday, October 19th at 6:30pm in the Multi-Purpose Room of LCS.<br /> </p> <p class="c3">This concert is for students in grades 4th-12th who are in Elementary Chorus, Elementary Band, Concert Choir, Jazz Choir, Concert Band or Jazz Band. <br /> </p> <p class="c3">Please come and support your students and the performing arts at Laurens Central School. <br /> </p> <p class="c3"><span class="c2"><strong><br /> </strong></span></p> <p class="c3"><span class="c2"><strong><br /> </strong></span></p> <p class="c3"><span class="c2"><strong>News for 9/29/10</strong></span><br /> Hartwick College Gospel Festival<br /> On Saturday, November 13th, there will be a one day Gospel Festival and concert opportunity on the campus of Hartwick College. You will not want to miss this event! See Mr. Chatterton for a permission slip and more information. The cost to students is $25 and includes lunch on campus. Hundreds of area students attended last year and gave the program rave reviews. Don't miss out on this opportunity.<br /> <span class="c4"><br /> <strong>All-County 2010-2011</strong></span><br /> Audition Music for the All-County Festival this year has arrived. If you are interested in auditioning for Junior Choir (7th-9th Grade) or Senior Choir (9th-12th grade) please see Mr. Chatterton to pick up music and sign up today!<br /> P.S. This year, Mr. Chatterton will be conducting the Jr. Choir, so you KNOW it will be fun!</p> <p class="c5"><span class="c2"><br /> <br /> <strong>News</strong> <strong>for 9/2/10</strong></span><br /> Jazz Choir will meet on Tuesday evenings from 7pm-9pm starting on Tuesday, September 14th. Any 9th-12th grader who is interested in joining may attend this rehearsal. We will be singing a variety of repertoire ranging from pop tunes and jazz standards, to American Spirituals, Renaissance madrigals and a special arrangement of the "Star Spangled Banner" written for the LCS Jazz Choir. I am Mr. Chatterton, the vocal music teacher at Laurens Central School, and director of the Concert Choir and Jazz Choir. I hope you all have enjoyed your Summer vacation and are ready to dive in to a year of great music making together. There are a lot of great opportunities this year including All-County festivals, NYSSMA auditions, concerts, workshops, field trips, and of course the 5th Annual Cabaret.</p> <p class="c3">For those of you in Concert and Jazz Choir, we will begin working on new repertoire during the first week of classes, so get your voices warmed up. For 7th grade general music, get ready for homework on the first day (but don't worry, it's the easiest and most enjoyable assignment you will ever have). I am looking forward to a year of great music making together at LCS.
