Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a proactive systems
approach to preventing and responding to classroom and school disciplinary
challenges. PBIS promotes both social and academic success through
motivating students by providing incentives for positive behaviors, teaching
them to make positive choices, and teaching them how to behave by focusing on
desired behaviors as opposed to primarily inappropriate ones.
