| On December 10th at Meadow Pond, prior to the BOE meeting, Carolann Castellano presented to the board and the public in attendance, a short "documentary" of the World Language program as it exists at Meadow Pond with Senora Sullivan.
If you would like to see the visual presentation, it is on the district website and can be viewed by CLICKING HERE A digital collage of artwork currently being produced at Meadow Pond from every grade was also shown to the audience. Perhaps the highpoint of the evening was watching the fifth graders that participated in the Aldrich Museum docent program exhibit some of their oral presentation skills and abilities at looking at art. They showed the board members how to look at art in a new way. They were really courageous, insightful, well-spoken and a true tribute to what our students are capable of achieving. Many thanks to Ms. Alison Emig for coaching them. It's not easy getting up in front of that crowd! |
| The BOE OPEN FORUM at Meadow Pond on December 10th was very enlightening in regards to the upcoming school budget development. The current economic times and the impending state aid cuts will affect the upcoming school budget. It is in the best interest of all parents (and community members) to inform themselves as much as possible during the next few months. Please view a powerpoint presentation from the meeting presented by Mike Jumper: 2010-2011 BOE Budget Development Presentation or "A Challenging Budget Year for New York State Public Schools" or 12/11 Lewisboro Ledger Article Also on the topic of State Aid to Schools: Education groups file lawsuit to block withholding of school aid |
