Goals of the PTA

Welcome to the Meadow Pond Elementary School (MPES) Parent Teacher
Association (PTA).
The PTA mission is articulated by the National PTA as:
1. To support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools, in
the community and before governmental bodies and other organizations that
make decisions affecting children.
2. To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect
their children.
3. To encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools.

We are a group of many people with a variety of interests. However, we all
share common goals: to be a part of our children's education, and to help our
children get the most out of their educational years. The PTA is a place for
parents to have an impact on their children's educational lives. There is a
place in our PTA for every parent, no matter how much time you have to give.
The MPES PTA sponsors many events during the school year. Some are family
activities where the only goal is to bring families together to share a good
time. Some events are educational and enjoyed by the children during school
hours. And some events are designed to raise funds needed to sponsor other
events.
Your participation in the PTA lets your child know the value you place on
education and upon civic involement. The best way to show our children the
importance of civic responsibilty and leadership is by example.
The PTA meetings are a place to find out more about your child's school,
including the faculty, the programs and the concerns of other parents.
suggestions. A place to vote on important issues.
Please come to a PTA meeting and give us your comments and suggestions.
We look forward to seeing and meeting you!
