About The Director

Welcome everyone! I hope that you have found your visit to the Marlboro
Web Site enjoyable and informative.
Let me take this opportunity to tell you a little about the Marlboro
Central School District and myself.
The Marlboro Central School District is located in a rural setting in the
Hudson Valley between Albany and New York City. It is a small community with
a district size of 28.5 square miles. Residents work either on farms (with
apples being a big local crop), own and operate their own small businesses,
work in local shops, work in construction trades, or commute to industries
located in nearby Newburgh, Poughkeepsie, Kingston, and increasingly, the New
York City area. Marlboro provides its residents easy access to a wide range
of cultural and recreational activities within and around the Hudson Valley.
The school district itself is made up of five public schools. There are
three local community elementary schools, one middle school, and one high
school which comprise the district. At the present time the total school
population is about 2,100.
As for me, I am a graduate of the Marlboro School System.
After graduating from Marlboro High School I went to Mount Saint Mary
College in Newburgh and graduated the program with a degree
in History/Political Science with a certification in Elementary Education.
My education continued as I completed graduate studies with a masters in
School District Administration from Pace University as well as a Masters in
Business Administration from Mount Saint Mary College.
My career in education began with my first position as teacher of a Fifth
Grade within the Highland Central School District. I was fortunate enough to
be assigned as Princpal of the Highland Intermediate School for two years.
Leaving Highland, I returned back to my grass roots in Marlboro to take the
position I currently hold now. It has been an exciting career thus far, and
I enthusiastically look forward in continuing to assist our Superintendent,
Julie Amodeo, in offering the finest education possible to our students.
