You may already be aware, but New York State has just recently changed the standards for the material being taught in Mathematics from grades 3-8. What this means for your child is that material from the old 6th grade curriculum will still be taught, with the addition of some higher level material being pushed down. We hope to have a smooth transition to these new standards which will most certainly challenge our students to perform to their highest potential. The math department at the MMS is dedicated to implementing these new standards to the best of our ability and we look forward to a VERY successful year with all of our students!!
