How long should my child stay home if sick with a fever?

A student may return to school after being fever free for 24 hours without 
the use of medication such as tylenol or motrin.

How long should my child stay home with strep throat?

Children may return to school 24 hours after beginning antimicrobial therapy 
and if they are afebrile.

Can my child be in school with Fifth's Disease?

Fifth Disease is a viral infection which affects the red blood cells. It is 
caused by a human parvovirus and seems to occur in elementary age children 
more often. A low grade fever, tiredness and red rash (generally appearing 
on the cheeks first) By the time the rash is evident the person is probably 
beyond the contagious period.

How long should my child stay home with pink eye?

Students are reffered to their physician for diagnosis and treatment. 
Students with purulent discharge should be excluded from school. They may 
return to school once appropriate treatment has begun. GOOD HAND WASHING is 
stressed.

students are to be excluded from school until under treatment for 24 hours.

How long should my child be home with mononucleosis?

Students should be excluded from school until private physician states that 
the child may return. Students must present a doctors note indicating any 
activity restriction upon return to school.

Can my child attend school with a rash?

Students with undiagnosed rashes should be excluded from school until 
diagnosed and treated by their own doctor.

How long should my child stay home with head lice?

The student will be excluded from school as soon as an active case of head 
lice is found. The student may return to school after appropriate treatment. 
When a child returns, he/she must be checked by the nurse.
