About The Teacher

Mrs. Palmieri has a BFA in American Dance from the Juilliard School.  She 
began her career as a dancer and choreographer, working as a guest artist in 
many elementary schools in Westchester County. After completing a Masters in 
Teaching at Pace University, Mrs. Palmieri joined the staff at Matthew 
Paterson in 1992.  She is one of the first one hundred teachers in New York 
State to complete her National Certification in Early Childhood Education 
and continues to take courses in order to stay current in her profession.

Mrs. Palmieri grew up in Westchester in a large famly. She has three grown 
children, two dogs, and a patient and loving husband.

Mission For The Class

Kindergarten is the children's first exposure to Matthew Paterson Elementary 
School and it may be some children's first exposure to any kind of school.  
I hope to make this year an exciting and joyous one as well as one of 
incredible growth. Kindergarten is no longer a year of playtime and naps!  
It is a year with incredible academic growth expected.  Despite this, we 
must all remember that each of our precious children will develop in his/her 
own time.  Each child a wonderful package to be opened at just 
the right moment.  Because we are a half day program, there is an 
expectation that parents will spend time with their children practicing 
skills introduced in school. It is important that parents and teachers 
work together and form a partnership in order to give the best education 
possible to our children.
