What is the best way to communicate with my child's teacher?

There is a daily communication book that travels between home and
school. Email me at Lwhitworth@carmelschools.org. Parents
should never hesitate to pick up the phone and call the school.

How many adults will be in the class?

The class is a 12-1-3 ratio program. There will always be a
teacher and two or three teaching assistants in the class. This
includes specials. Some of the children have a one to one
teaching assistant to help them in the school day.

When will my child be mainstreamed?

The children are mainstreamed into regular kindergarten classes
as they are ready individually. Some children begin the year in
a half day of regular kindergarten and spend the rest of the day
in our special class. Other children start to join the regular
kindergarten classes a little bit at a time, perhaps starting
with circle time or a special.

When will my child have specials?

The children have one special class each day. When the schedule
is set I will send it home. Three of our special classes will be
integrated. My class will be divided to attend with one of the
regular kindergarten classes.
