Health

Third, Fourth and Fifth Grade Health: Students will need to bring a personalized folder to class which houses a pencil. Students will meet one day a week for health class the entire year. Students will begin the year with lessons surrounding safety and first aid. Parents should receive a newsletter with more specific details by the week of September 21st. If a student brings home extended lesson work please support your child with the given activity to reinforce lesson concepts.

Seventh and Eighth Grade Health: Students will need a 1-11/2" binder to use for both PE, Health and Home and Careers or Technology Classes. The binder should have writing utensils, paper and dividers for each special area. This binder is to be transported between all special areas. Students will meet two days a week for class the entire year.

Seventh and Eighth grade classes will begin the year with team-building and group cooperatives to foster a supportive learning environment in preparation for the group activities and projects throughout the year.

Seventh grade Students: After introductory lessons students will delve into effective communication techniques and strategies with others. They will also complete a health behavior inventory and work on developing a positive life skill.

Eighth grade Students: Will complete a reflection sheet on their outdoor education experience. They will then start research and investigation of Red Ribbon Week activities, a nationally celebrated alcohol and drug awareness week. This will be celebrated during the week of October 23-31st. The students will participate in themes surrounding awareness of the importance of staying drug-free to maintain a safe and healthy lifestyle. Students will also teach members of the sixth grade class about specific measures to keep them drug free. Please ensure that your child has returned the internet permission slip to actively participate in important research.

Thursday, October 29th: Drugs And I Don't Mix: Wear Mix-Matched Clothes in Supports of a Drgu Free Lifestyle

Friday, October 30th: Color My Worl Drug Free: Wear Bright Colors to Show Your Drug Free Lifestyle
