Menands School will be hosting its first annual PTA Family Literacy Night! During the evening families will be traveling in groups to the different Dr. Seuss themed literacy stations. Below is a description of each station families will be assigned to follow for the evening. Literacy Night Stations · Read Aloud with The Cat in the Hat: Families will listen to The Cat in the Hat Comes Back , by Dr. Seuss, with our very own Cat in the Hat, Mackenzie Pratt. · Read Aloud with Horton the Elephant: Families will listen to Horton Hears a Who , by Dr. Seuss, with our very own Horton the Elephant, Dayton Senecal. · Read Aloud with Mr. André: Families will listen to Mr. André read his favorite Dr. Seuss book. · Snacks/Trivia: Families will visit the Dr. Seuss inspired snack station. While enjoying snacks, families can take part in two contests, “Guess the Number of Pillberries” and “Name That Who”. Book Exchange: Families will have an opportunity to select a gently used book, to add to their home library, replacing the one donated at check in.Schedule of Events Groups will be assigned at check in 6:45-7:00: Check in and drop off your gently used book. Then proceed to the gym to kick off the night with Ms. Meany.
8:15-8:30: Return to gym where trivia winners will be announced. |
