How do I celebrate my child's birthday?

We love to celebrate
birthdays! You may
send in a snack for
your child to share
or bring it in.
Just touch base
with me on the time.

When is homework due?

Homework is to be
sent back on
Mondays. If your
child has difficulty
with any of it,
please let me
know. This should
be a reinforcement
of what we are
learning in school.

When is the best time to contact Mrs. McDermott?

If you send an email
I can answer it
within a few hours.
I check it
throughout the day.
If there is
something that you
need to speak to me
about
right away, please
let the office know.
I am also usually
available before and
after school. You
can also write a
note.

What extra work can I do with my child?

Instead of paper and
pencil tasks, I ask
that you ask your
child comprehension
questions after
reading a story. For
math skills you can
practice number
writing, adding
objects, counting,
shapes, etc.
Anything that you
can make a game out
of is even better.

What is pre-paid lunch?

This is a great way to solve lost money! You can send in a check
made out to the Minisink Valley School District. Then the children
give their number each day and you can track what they are buying on
line. They can use it once in awhile or every day. Ice cream must be
purchased with cash. We can buy ice cream on Thursdays.

What should I do if my child needs to leave early?

You must write a note. If it is at the end of the day they will be
walked to the cafeteria at 3:15. If they need to be picked up before
that then they will be picked up at the office.
