What is your attendance policy? Attendance policy: -If you are absent, you are responsible to make up all missed work (notes, tests, etc.). -If you are absent from a test, you must come to me and arrange to make it up. Grading policy: - I grade quizzes, worksheets, projects, and tests on a point system which varies with each assesment. - Some assignments will be graded with a Rubric that will be converted into a number grade. Please see the link for your class sylabus for more detailed information! The tests are broken into several parts and will include several, if not all, of the following: 1. Multiple choice questions 2. Short answer response 4. Essays How should I divide my notebook? -Notebooks need to be divided with page separators as follows: 1. Literary Terms 2. Literature 3. Notes See the essay link for complete guidelines. Are you available to help me outside of the classroom? Extra help: -I am available to provide extra assistance to those who need it. Please see me and we will arrange a convenient time. Will we be doing any projects? Activities/Projects: -Several activities/projects will be assigned throughout the year. -They will be assigned: Individually and in groups -I will, from time to time, give an unannounced quiz. -Reading and writing outside of class are the most commonly assigned tasks aswell as projects. So, yes, I give homework! Outside reading is not graded; however, I am the queen of pop quizzes for reading assignments. All written homework is graded on a 100 point system. How many books are we going to read? -The ELA Curriculm consists of 4-6 books and plays. When can I go to the freshman HUB? You may go to the HUB whenever a teacher allows you to have a pass. You may not go in-between classes! A pass is required. |
