Kindergarten News
We have published our Donald Crews books and they came out great!
These books will be on display at the High School Cafeteria, Tuesday May 15th. I hope that you will be able to go up and enjoy your child's book.
In writer’s workshop we have started thinking about How To books. We have been brainstorming different topics that we can use to write a How To Book.
Topics that we are experts in. (making brownies)
Topics that we like to do with someone else. (catching crabs with my brother)
Things we love to do. (playing with little legos)
In Reader's Workshop we have been talking about a different type of tricky word that we may come across when reading...words we do not know the meaning of. In order to help us with confusing words, we can talk about those words with a partner to try to figure it out.
In Fundations we have been putting together all the skills we have learned to tap to read sentences. It is so exciting to see how all the skills can help us as readers.
In math we have been:
·Adding and subtracting
·Playing Gorilla Math on the computer
In science we have:
·started to observe our ladybug babies. Did you know that ladybugs are not always cute and red. Ask about the ladybugs that were delivered this week.
A few reminders:
The school budget vote is Tuesday May 15th! Please remember to go up to the high school to vote and see your child's published book.
·Send back books the next day. If the bag does not come back, I cannot send home a new book the next day. Young readers need to reread books everyday in order to become stronger readers.
·Please make sure that your kindergartener has a good night sleep. We are reviewing things that we have learned along with learning new concepts everyday.
·Don't forget to put your May and June calendar in a place where you can look at it everyday!
Have a wonderful week!
