Mr. Ferris is the principal of North Shore Middle School. He has
spent his entire professional career working with students as a teacher
or building administrator. Mr. Ferris is dedicated towards helping students
reach their greatest potential in a safe and stimulating school environment.
1.Creating Quality Learning Experiences: I want to support every classroom
teacher, team, and grade level at the middle school in working
collaboratively to produce programs/learning experiences for each child that:
are thematic in nature, has essential questions guiding students along, takes
advantage of interdisciplinary opportunities, integrates sound study skills,
and develops curriculum that is connected and relevant to the life of middle
level children.
2.Improving Quality Instruction: I want to support every teacher in working
collegially to improve the quality of their own instruction so that students
are constantly engaged and challenged in the classroom, no matter what level
learner they are. This means differentiating instruction, using a variety of
teaching and learning strategies, grouping and regrouping students in unique
ways, and allowing students to rise to the level of their own competencies.
3.Supporting the Learning Community: I want to provide teachers and students
with a safe and energetic learning environment that addresses the basic human
needs of adults and students. As principal, I want to maintain and support
the middle school as a healthy learning community whereby programs are put in
place to support the social, emotional, and academic needs of students and
faculty.
