| Field Day 2009
I will need parents to volunteer to help out with field day. Please send me
an email if you can help out.... Taking photos, timing, passing out ribbons,
and watching children as they wait for their turn.
Student responsibilities:
1. Please bring a towel to sit on.
2. Wear suncreen/bug repellent (students are encouraged to put on
sunscreen/bug repellent at home.
3. Bring plastic water bottles with your name on it.
4. Wear proper sneakers with flat soles and closed backs only!
5. Students may wear hats, sunglasses or sun visors.
6. Students may want to wear class "color" or Oak Grove t-shirts.
7. During inclement weather, grades K-4th will wait until the afternoon
when the weather clears up, schedule a raindate.
8. Any parent who would like to volunteer please call Mrs. Turpin-O at

If weather looks like it will clear up we will have the field day in the
afternoon if raining all day we will schedule a raindate if possible.
Tuesday, June 16, 2009 raindates start 9:10 am-12:30 pm
Grades 3-5 will be signing up during gym class on the events they would like
to participate in.
Grades 3-4 between 2-5 out of 12 events.
Grade 5 between 2-7 events out of 12 events.
Everyone will have the opportunity to do Tug-of-War.
EVENTS:
1. 50 yd dash
2. 100 yd dash
3. 50 yd shuttle relay (team of 4 boys or team of 4 girls)
4. Co-Ed 50 yd shuttle relay (team of 2 boys/2girls)
5. Potato/Shuttle Race (four blocks spaced out on field)
6. Sack race (jump in a potato race)
7. 3-legged race (tie legs together or one leg is in sack with partner)
8. Oak Grove Mini-Marathon (4 laps around play area)
9. Hammer Throw (3 playground balls in plastic bag)
10. Standing Long jump
11. Hurdles (jumping over cones)
12. Cup Stack Relay Race (team of 4)
