Welcome June! The 4th graders and I enjoyed Social Studies outdoors last week during our warm and
sunny weather. What could be a better way to begin reading about The Revolutionary War than in the
grass under a tree?? The students are fascinated by this major historical event - we just discussed "The
Shot Heard Round the World," and read Henry Wadsworth's ballad of "The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere."
Thank you for continuing with our daily homework routines - checking and signing the Take-Home
Binders, and providing time and space for your child to complete his/her daily assignments. I
understand how it becomes difficult to maintain such a schedule with the tempting warmer
temperatures and inviting outdoor activities. We will be working hard to accomplish more learning in
all our subject areas before the end of the year, but we will supplement these activities with some
enriching events such as field trips, games, etc.
