Intramurals small medium large December 17, 2009 To: Intramural Parents As a result of cuts made to the Wappingers Central School District budget, Intramural hours have been reduced. The last day for Grade 5 after-school Intramurals will be Monday, December 21. All other before-school Intramurals for the school year will end as follows: • Grade 4 – Monday, March 8, 2010 • Grade 5 – Friday, March 12, 2010 Mr. Lander, one of our Fifth Grade Teachers, will be covering morning intramurals in March as I will be on maternity leave. September-October 9, 2009 – Football Punt, Pass, Kick Competition October 16-October 19, 2009-Walking Challenge October 23-October 30, 2009- Soccer November 9- Scooter Day/Relay Races November 12-Fit Challenge (basketball throw, jump rope, wall pass, shuffle, revolutions, sprint) November 16-30-Lacrosse December 1-December 11, 2009-Speed Stack Records December 14-December 21, 2009-Bowling January 4-January 22, 2010-Handball/Basketball (Basketball Skills Test) January 25-February 5, 2010-Volleyball Feb. 8-Feb. 12, 2010- Jump Rope Skills Feb. 19-Feb. 26, 2010-Volleyball March 1-March 12, 2010-Scooter Hockey/Floor Hockey Intramurals over at this point due to 40 hours cut in the budget. Other activities to be included: Circus Gymnastics Fitt Challenge Junior Olympic Test (Soccer, Basketball, Tennis, Track and Field) Softball/Kickball games Pitch, Hit, and Run Competition, Rec Games updated: 12/09 Stay tuned for permission slips for these competitions. DATES are scheduled on the Calendar page. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Parents and Guardians: Mrs. Turpin-Orgetas is excited to announce the intramural program for 4th and 5th grade girls and boys. I will provide before school recreational activities from Monday, September 14, 2009-March 12, 2009 With this program your child will learn fun lifelong activities, how to become more physically fit, learn more about sports, and most importantly how to have a great time with his/her friends while playing games. Intramurals is a privilege to students that are successfully completing their school work, maintaining their academics and following the appropriate code of conduct set up in our school handbook. Listed below is the schedule of participation. Monday 8:00-8:50 am -4th Grade Boys and Girls Friday 8:00-8:50 am -5th Grade Boys and Girls If you would like your child to participate in this intramural program you must complete and detach the permission slip below, and return it to the physical education teacher.
