During our Literacy Block, the children will identify,
practice writing correctly, and identify the sound of the letter Ll. The
children will also identify things that begin with l.
They will begin to practice writing their first and last names by
themselves.
Show-and-Tell is Friday. Remember to bring in something that begins with L.
Please review the letters we learned already daily- Bb, Cc, Ff, Mm, Nn,
Tt, Ii, Rr, Oo, Aa, Gg, Dd, Ss, Ee, and Uu. We will continue to clap out the
number of syllables in words. This week, we will also continue to discuss
sequence of events (order in which things happen).
In Math, we will identify the names of the hands on a face clock. We will
learn to tell time to the hour. We will also compare a face clock to a
digitial clock.
In Science, the children will identify, draw, and label the parts to a flower
and a tree. They will look at a real plant and locate the roots, stem,
leaves, and blossom.
In Social Studies, the children will identify the holidays- Valentine's Day
and President's Day. They will write and illustrate how they know their
family loves them. They will also be able to identify George Washington as
the 1st and Abraham Lincoln as the 16th President. They will find the
presidents on coins and bills also.
Reminder: Please remember to label everything. This includes lunch bags,
snack and sweaters.
