Dear Parents/Guardians:
School is closed Wednesday through Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday. Enjoy
the time with your family and friends.
Parent-Teacher Conferences continue on Nov. 30. Students will be dismissed at
11:30 a.m.
MATH: Students took a multiplication test this week. Next week we'll return
to algebra concepts, including patterns and rules. Then it's on to long
division.
READING: Students completed a comprehension and reading response assignment
this week using nonfiction text. The next book project will be assigned when
we return.
WORD STUDY: We're working on identifying common suffixes.
LANGUAGE ARTS: We’ll next explore the elements of descriptive writing.
Grammar lessons will focus on verbs.
SCIENCE: Unit 2 will focus on interactions in the micro-world. Students will
learn about the parts of a microscope, and how to use the tool to investigate
plant and animal cells.
SOCIAL STUDIES: Students took a chapter test on government this week.
