Dear Parents/Guardians:

Hello everyone. Thanks for all your generosity and support this fall. It is
appreciated. Also, thanks you those who contributed to our holiday/winter
party. Best wishes to all of you and your families this holiday season.

Information about the all-district music program was sent home Tuesday. If
interested, permission slips are due back by Jan. 8.

MATH: Students took a test on division concepts – patterns, estimation and
dividing whole numbers. We also worked on dividing into four-digit dividends.
We'll continue with division after the break.

READING: Students completed a comprehension assessment. They also presented
their Book Jacket projects.

WORD STUDY: We discussed the Floss Rule for doubling the final f, l, s and z
in one-syllable words with short vowels.

LANGUAGE ARTS: Students are learning how to write "how-to" descriptive
pieces. Our study of verbs continues.

SCIENCE: Students completed an animal classification project. They were also
introduced to cells. We'll explore this further after the break.

SOCIAL STUDIES: We studied climate and vegetation patterns in the western
hemisphere. Our geography study continues after the break.

Have a safe and joyous holiday!
