CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE JUNIORS ON YOUR JUNIOR RING CEREMONY DAY!
THURSDAY, APRIL 17TH
WE WELCOME POPE BENEDICT XVI! His presence in our country is a wonderful
gift to all of us! How fortunate we are to be able to be part of it through
coverage of the various events on EWTN, some cable news channels, etc. We
are able to join our prayers to the Holy Father's!
Regarding school work, to give you a "heads up," in the near future my
ENGLISH 10 class will be beginning the drama, "The Crucible" (it's about the
Salem witch trials of 1692), which is in the back of your textbook, after we
discuss Twain's story. There is very interesting introductory material in
the text.
ENGLISH 11, PERIOD C, will be writing their essay when we return to class.
In the meantime, they can be reading their Barron's English Regents review
book, looking at the various tasks that we will be working on, in
preparation for the Regents. Also, this would be a good opportunity to be
doing practice tests in an SAT review book, if you have one.
ENGLISH 11, PERIODS A, D, AND F - I have postponed the vocab quiz for Unit
10 until Friday, April 25, on the assumption that some of you may have left

reading your Barron's English Regents review book, looking at the various
tasks that we will be working on. If you have an SAT review book, you can
be doing practice tests.
Once again, we welcome Pope Benedict XVI!
FRIDAY, APRIL 18, 2008
I hope everyone has a good weekend! Some of you will be going to see Pope
