Happy New Year!
The Science Fair is coming up the week of February 9. Project outlines are
due no later than Friday, January 9. The outline is worth one test grade
and the project is worth two test grades. Points are lost for each day the
outline is turned in late.
Please note: Many students want to build something for their project. The
project needs to involve an experiment. Students need to decide upon a
QUESTION, and formulate a hypothesis that will answer that question. "How
to Build an Electrical Circuit" is not an acceptable project. "What Makes
the best conductor of an electical current?" is. The project should be
based around a hypothesis that can be tested. Simply building a model
doesn't work through the steps of the Scientific Method.
We have just begun Unit 3: Diversity of Life! We will be studying cells,
classification of life, and ecosystems and adaptations. Please return the
orange Glencoe textbooks, we will no longer be using them.
