We do not allow large book bags or bags on wheels because these create a safety hazard by blocking
movement in the classroom.

CVMS GOLDEN EAGLES HOMEWORK AND CLASSWORK POLICIES
Late homework:
You have a responsibility to complete work on time.
However, we understand there are times when you do not/cannot complete assignments on time.
The teachers on the team will accept assignments late.
Any assignment turned in late will lose points.
If you have been absent , you should hand in work when you return, no penalties.
Copying/cheating:
If you are caught copying work from another students paper, then both of you will have the papers
taken away.
The teacher who assigned the work will deal directly with you.
A zero for the assignment may be a result depending on the circumstances in the incident.
The "Hook":
You will be put "on the hook" if you do not participate in the class activities assigned by the teacher.
You have a chance to get off the hook by doing the work.
If you are still on the hook by the end of the period you will serve a lunch detention.
If you are put on the hook in a morning class (per 3, 4 or 5), you will serve LD that day. If you
are put on the hook in an afternoon class (per 8 or 9), you will serve the LD the following day.
If you skip a hook LD, you will receive a team office referral plus a parent phone call.
CVMS GOLDEN EAGLES MISSING HOMEWORK POLICY:
Teachers will compile a weekly list of students who are missing assignments in Eagle classes.
If you miss three or more assignments in one week, we will begin a series of consequences. The 1st
time in a quarter you miss three or more assignments in a week the teacher who is your case manager
will meet with you.
The 2nd time you miss three or more assignments in a quarter the case manager will contact your
parent or guardian.
After the 3rd time you are placed on a homework contract.
After the 4th time the team will have a parent/guardian conference and weekly report may be the result.
We will start fresh each quarter.
Students who hand in all work in a week will earn positive support by their teachers.
CVMS GOLDEN EAGLES LATENESS POLICY
The Golden Eagle teachers feel very strongly that you must be in the classroom when the bell rings.
Lateness is a serious issue because it causes distractions, and late students miss out on important
announcements and directions. Here is our policy regarding lateness to class:
Teachers will close the door at the bell.
When the teacher opens the door, any late students must sign in on the Late Sign In sheet.
If you have a pass, it is to be put in the envelope by the sign in sheet.
You must go to your seat quietly.
Teachers will bring sign in sheets to Friday team meetings.
Consequences are:
3 lates: parent phone call
4 lates: lunch detention + parent call (if one was not already made)
5 or more lates: parent call (if one was not already made) + team office referral
If you skip a lunch detention, you will receive a team office referral and a parent phone call if
one was not already made.
Students for whom these strategies are not working will receive more serious consequences given by
the main office.
CVMS GOLDEN EAGLES EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES
1. We hope to go on these field trips this year if all goes well:
Bowling - December 2008
Dorney park- June 2009
Circleville Park- June 2009
2. Birthday parties:
The team holds four birthday parties a year for all students. You will receive an invitation and
reminder of the date, time, and place. We need your support to bring in or make something for the
party.
3. Student of the week:
The teachers will choose a student of the week, based on good work and behavior. The student chosen
will receive a variety of goodies from the team.
4. Other:
We usually hold a Halloween costume contest (with prizes!) and a party, so everyone put on your
thinking caps to create fun costumes!
We try to have one or two team breakfasts a year.
We usually sponsor a family in need for the holidays. At that time we ask that all students bring
in an item that will help make the holidays more pleasant for our adopted family.
In May we raffle off two free tickets to Dorney Park. Students in Mrs. Meier's and Mrs. Cavanagh's
classes earn tickets by demonstrating good behavior, doing good work, or helping out.
