Homework Packet:
Homework will be given in the form of a homework packet. The packet will
be given to students Friday afternoon and it will not be due back to school
until the following Thursday morning. Make sure your child is reading 20
minutes for a minimum of 5 nights and filling out his/her Star Reader log.
If you are concerned that your child does not understand the material,
please send a note with the homework so that I can help your child to
understand. If students choose not to do their homework at home, then they
must complete their homework during recess time.
Homework Tips:
Parents are key to making homework a positive experience for their
children. Here are some tips to help get your child in a homework routine:
-Make sure your child has a quiet place to work that is well lit.
-Keep homework supplies in a central location.
-Set a daily homework and reading time.
-Help your child learn to manage his/her schedule by picking days
with limited or no evening activities (brownies, religion, soccer,
etc.) and map out which assignments will be completed on those days.
-Of course, children always need lots of praise and support!
