Class Schedule for Mrs. Kavanaghs Class
9:00 Take attendance and check note box for notes from home.
Children need to put all notes in the note box.
9:15-10:30 Reading and Writing Lessons During our reading lessons, we
practice sounding out words. We also learn to read words by reading
sentences, stories and word lists. We practice many other reading skills by
discussing and analyzing the stories and poems we read during our reading
lessons. The students also work in their journals and complete handwriting
assignments during this time. When the students have completed their reading
lessons, their journals and their handwriting assignments, they work in their
centers and do work board activities.
10:30-11:05 The students work in their phonics books.
11:25-12:10 Lunch and center time
12:10-12:30 Recess
12:30-1:20 Math During our math lessons, we often use bags of shapes, coins
and many other kinds of manipulatives to help us master addition and
subtraction. We learn many other math skills when we work on special projects
and complete activities in our math workbooks.
1:20-2:00 On day one we have library and on day three we have computer. On
days three, four, five and six, we have social studies and science lessons.
2:00-2:20 Snack
2:20-2:40 Pack up to go home.
2:40-3:20 On day one and four we have physical education (gym).On days two and
five we have art. On days three and six we have music.
3:20-3:30 Line up for dismissal and listen to a story.
