News From Room 11

IMPORTANT NOTES:
-No TFK this week!
-NO Reflective Reading Record!
-Report Card Conferences continue on Monday, November 30th!
-Half Day on Monday, November 30th!
-Enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday!

Spelling/Cursive--No new list this week.  We will beginning writing spelling
in cursive next week.  We are in the middle of learning the capital letters.

Reading-- The children will start to have their reading response letters
graded.  We will continue with text to self connections.
  
Language/Writing--We will write the final copy of our compare/contrast
paragraphs.  We will also learn about singular possessive nouns this week. 

Math--We will be estimating sums in order to finish this chapter.  The Chapter
2 TEST will be on Tuesday, December 1st.

Science-- We will complete our seed study this week.  We will move on to the
parts of the plant...first up is leaves!

Social Studies-- We will begin learning about the US Economy next week.

                            General Information:

-A healthy snack and water bottle are optional, but highly suggested.
**Please note:  We are a PEANUT-FREE Class!**

-Don't forget to save and collect Box Tops for Education labels!(send to 
school in an envelope with your child's name and my name).

-Children should have 5 sharpened #2 pencils with erasers at all times.

-If your child is absent from school, please send an absent note on the day 
the child returns to school.

--Time For Kids (TFK) will be assigned every Monday to be due on Friday.  
Please make sure your child is reading it cover to cover.  This is a good 
opportunity to listen to you read as well.  This helps the children hear the 
fluency of a proficient reader. They will also have to complete worksheets as 
well. Please make sure they are done NEATLY and in COMPLETE SENTENCES!

                             EVERY WEEK:

-A newsletter with the week's events will come home every Monday-look 
for a piece of paper with NEWS FROM ROOM 11 on the top.

-Planners must be signed every night (including Friday).

-All tests/quizzes must be signed and returned regardless of the grade.

-The children should be reading and practicing their math facts fifteen to
thirty minutes every night.  

-Any unfinished classwork will have to be completed for homework--it will be 
written in the planner so you are aware.
