What's the Scoop in Room 3?

               **************MONTHLY PLANS*******
NOVEMBER

MATH-  We will be working with Units of measure: customary, metric, and 
capacity.
**Your son/daughter will be coming home with "fact rings" that they are to 
review and answer each night to keep thier facts fresh in their minds.  This 
will help your child with retaining and mastering their facts.

SOCIAL STUDIES - We will be studying the Native Americans of New York State.

SCIENCE - We will be studying the Scientific Method,the meaning & importance 
of each step, and how to write up a lab report along with experimenting.

ELA - We will be working on writing Solid Paragraphs and formulating them 
into Multi-paragraphed Essays using the 6 Trait Writing process.  

READING - Some will be working in Wilson Groups for decoding, encoding, and
fluency on their individual levels.  In Addition, the students will be 
working on their reading comprehension based on books at their individual 
levels as well as developing independent reading skills to become more 
independent with their reading. 

**  Each student should read for 15 minutes and will complete a reading log 
each night **

SPELLING - The students will be given a weekly Spelling List along with daily 
spelling activities to assist with their development of spelling rules.


Enriching Community Service Projects - Each month the students as a class 
will choose a charity and a method of support for that specific charity.  
This month is The SPCA.
