Daily homework assignments will not be posted on this site because I expect
the students to be responsible and write their homework in their planner
each and every day. It is the 5th graders' education and they must take
responsibility for their actions. Homework that is not completed on time
will be completed during recess.
Writing homework in the planners is one of the first things the students are
told to do after entering the room each morning. Homework is always posted
on the white board in the rear of the classroom.
Your child will write every assignment in his/her planner on a daily basis.
The planner is an important organizational tool, which will help your child
become a responsible, well-rounded student. Planners are mandatory at Van
Wyck as well.
There will be homework almost every night. It is the responsibility of each
student to make sure that his/her homework is turned in on time. There will
be various long-term projects throughout the year. Students must plan ahead
for these projects. These too must be written in the planners.
Planners must be signed by a parent every night.
** I check planners every morning. I highlight the assignments that weren't
completed on time. This helps keep track of student progress. **
